23-25 Final Exams

25 (tentative) Travel back to Seattle

I know lots of people want to know what the schedule is so they can come visit. My suggestion is to come in the Spring for one of my long breaks- (Carnival or Easter). There are lots of things going on, and I will not have school. So if you do come, do not plan on being able to stay with me, plan on staying at a hotel. Know that I cannot miss class, because my grades are penalized if I do.  Also my parents (Glenn and Ana) will be coming out at some point to see me. I am also thinking of staying in Spain/ Europe for a little while after classes are done in May.

Whoops

So, I decided to make another blog, but excluding all the stuff about Cadiz, so it will contain things like… what my roommate and I did today: posted pictures of red pandas on each others’ walls, things like that.

So I don’t foresee this blog really generating a lot of steam until August.

The link to the other blog is under the other post titled “whoops.”

Before Spain!

Hey everyone! Just to let all the family and friends who I haven’t been the best at keeping in contact with (my bad), I wanted to let you know the schedule of things before I leave!

In June after Spring Quarter I’ll be heading down to New Mexico for a couple days, visiting the grandparents-Andrews and cousins.  I’d love to make it out to Santa Rosa to see the B. Martins, but I’m not entirely sure that’ll be an option.

I will be doing Summer Quarter again, so do not expect to see too much of me, unless you come and hang out on campus. I’ll be living at home again in Auburn, so that might help some.

Once I’m done with Summer Quarter I’ll have about a week to pack all my stuff together and collect my life within a suitcase :( and try and fit 4 months worth of peanut butter in there among my belongings. hm…

What is this?

I am moving to Spain in 5 months. I want to let everyone know how things are going so I’m setting up a blog.

This will probably include things like, “oh crap oh crap, I am freaking out. oh crap.” - this would be the before I leave.

I also expect to include things like, “Oh man, Spain is AMAZING.”

But just a little about the details of the move.

So I’m planning on majoring or at least minoring in Spanish. In order to do this the University of Washington requires that you study abroad. So, here I am studying abroad in Spain, the country of my ancestors.

The program is in Cadiz which is a tiny little peninsula in Andalucia on the Atlantic Ocean.

I will be gone from late August until Christmas, and then again from late January until May or June. Dates are to be determined for returning.

As of right now, I’m not sure the best way to get a hold of me will be when I get over there. But I will be maintaining my newish email at apple. daniellemmartin@me.com So if everything else fails, email that, and I’ll get back to you.

I’ll keep this blog in English for everyone who doesn’t understand Spanish, or at the very least offer a translation.

There will be photos to come, and more details!
